Life Is Good OC Wellness Challenge

There is no better time to start your wellness journey than right now! That’s why we’re excited to kick off the Life Is Good OC Wellness Challenge—a month-long journey dedicated to nurturing your mind, body, and soul. Each week, we’ll guide you through a task designed to help you reconnect with yourself and the vibrant community around you.

You can start this at any time, but we recommend starting at the beginning of the month! Since most months have about 4 and a half weeks, we’ve rounded up and curated tasks for up to 5 weeks.

Ready to get started? Let’s go!

Week 1: Journal at the Beach

Start the month by finding some peace and clarity by journaling—but make it even more impactful by doing it at the beach and letting the sunshine and sound of the waves calm and inspire you. Whether its goal setting, writing about your day, or just putting all the thoughts swirling in your head down to paper, what you journal about is up to you. The act itself, regardless of the topic, can be very therapeutic.

If you’re looking for a quieter place to reflect, head to a more secluded beach like Victoria Beach in Laguna. Otherwise, check out our ultimate beach guide for other recommendations.

Week 2: Spend Time in Nature

There’s no better way to refresh your spirit than to get away from the screens and spend time outdoors surrounded by nature. Make a point this week to spend time by the beach, go on a shaded hike, or maybe just enjoy laying in the grass under a tree at one of OC’s many regional parks.

We have no shortage of beautiful places to explore here in Orange County, and it’s worth it to make time to appreciate them.

Week 3: Write Down Reasons You Love Yourself

We are fierce proponent for self-love here at Life Is Good OC. Practicing self-love is a crucial part of wellness, and this week, we encourage to take a moment to acknowledge and embrace all the reasons why you are amazing.

Find a quiet spot, reflect on what makes you You, and write down the reasons you love yourself. If you need a little inspiration, don’t miss Maria of Spiritual Laundry‘s guest article on Embracing Self-Love Through Spiritual Practices where she reminds us that true self-love is about honoring all the multifaceted dimensions that make you unique.

Week 4: Commit to Eating Whole Foods

Eating whole, natural foods can make a world of difference in how you feel. Make it a point this week to kick processed foods to the curb and eat whole foods instead. Do it for the whole week (or longer) if you can!

Eating clean doesn’t have to be a chore. In fact, you can make it a fun experience by stocking up on fresh produce, breads, and meats at your local farmers market or even just opt for a tasty local restaurant that sources fresh and sustainable ingredients.

(Bonus) Week 5: Exercise in a Way That’s Fun for You

Exercise should be enjoyable, not a burden. This week (or maybe all month), work to make time to move your body in a way that brings you joy! Not only will it make it something you look forward to, but you’ll be much more likely to be consistent.

Whether it’s dancing in your living room, going for a beach run, hiking through red rocks, or hitting a free outdoor gym, make it fun! The goal is to feel good and have fun while staying active.

Join the Challenge!

We invite you to take on this challenge and share your journey with us by leaving a comment or tagging us on Instagram @lifeisgoodoc! Let’s make September (or really any month you’re reading this) a month of self-care, reflection, and joy. Because when life is good, it’s worth celebrating—every single day.
