Wild Rivers Invites OC Families to Join the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

It’s not often that a day at the waterpark can help save lives.

On Thursday, June 25, Orange County families will have the opportunity to do just that when Wild Rivers Waterpark hosts the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ in Irvine.

The annual global initiative brings together hundreds of aquatic facilities around the world to promote water safety, teach essential swimming skills, and help prevent childhood drowning.

During the event, participants will take part in a 30-minute swim lesson beginning at 10 a.m. that will occur simultaneously with lessons taking place at hundreds of locations worldwide. Upon completion, attendees will become official Wild Rivers Water Safety Agents, helping spread awareness about the importance of water safety and drowning prevention.

The event’s mission is especially important as families spend more time around pools, beaches, lakes, and waterparks during the summer months. According to national safety organizations, drowning remains one of the leading causes of accidental death among children, making swim education and water awareness critical life skills.

While the lesson itself is focused on safety, the day is also designed to celebrate learning with plenty of family-friendly fun.

Registration is $40 per person and includes:

  • Admission to the 10 a.m. World’s Largest Swimming Lesson
  • Full-day access to Wild Rivers Waterpark
  • Water Safety Fashion Swim Goggles and Wet Dry Bags for the first 150 participants
  • Access to the Foam Party with DJGP beginning at 11 a.m.
  • A $20 donation directly benefiting the Jasper Ray Foundation’s drowning prevention efforts

Participants are encouraged to pre-register using the password WLSL2026 and arrive by 9:45 a.m. for check-in.

Whether families attend for the lesson, the cause, or a fun-filled day at the waterpark, they’ll leave with valuable knowledge that could help save a life.
