While fitness studios across Orange County have been required to close in response to COVID-19, it’s not stopping them from keeping our community active. When Orange County’s top fitness studios received the potentially business-destructing news, they did not waste any time figuring out how to survive this crisis.
Let’s take a look at how GritCycle pivoted and is using their grit to support their business, members, and instructors.
At the beginning of its studio closures, GritCycle offered a 10-class package at a discounted rate that could be used when the studio reopened. This allowed them to generate revenue during the closure while providing their members with a great rate on classes – brilliant!
As things evolved and everyone in Orange County realized the stay at home order would last more than a couple of weeks, GritCycle came up with an innovate idea — rent their bikes ($299/month) which helped generate revenue while allowing their members to stay active at home — even more brilliant!
Shortly after renting the bikes, GritCycle offered a Live on Demand Weekly Membership ($35) with their amazing instructors like hair whipping queen Charmaine Shetler.
Most recently, GritCycle announced a new line of hand-screened t-shirts and sweatshirts (as featured below). The line was designed by their instructor @stephie_cee and displays their favorite phrase, GRITSTRONG. 100% of the proceeds will be split among the GritCycle front desk staff and instructors who are out of work due to the impact of COVID-19.
BOXHAUS in Newport Beach is another studio that has offered rentals and live-streaming classes.
